Der Club gehört zwei Labelchefs (DISKO B. und PASTAMUSIC), dem ehemaligen ULTRASCHALL-Chef und dem Keyboarder von THE NOTWIST aka Console aka Acid Pauli. Der Clubname weist auf die Straße hin (Sonnenstrasse) und nimmt Bezug auf einen Münchner Kultfilm der 68er-Bewegung ("Rote Sonne"). Ums Eck finden sich noch: Die stark touristische Disco PACHA, die Schickimicki-Disco BABY! und eine Diskothek mit Billigpreisen namens MAX & MORITZ.

The name of the club is related to the name of the street (Sonnenstraße) and refers to an iconic Munich film of the 68 movement ('Rote Sonne'). Around the corner there are also the tourist disco PACHA, swells club BABY! and the cheap discotheque MAX & MORITZ.
