In Schwabing gibts a Kneipn, die muass ganz was bsondres sei.... Die Spider Murphy Gang hat recht, es gibt sie. Aber Schickeria ist sie nicht: Die Gummizelle hat sogar unglaublich bodenständige Roots, denn sie ist die taufrische und elektronische Schwester der gnadenlos kultigen Rockbar 'Schwabinger 7'. Durch einen Eingangsbereich, der wegen seiner Lärmschutzeinrichtung echt irgendwie aussieht wie eine Gummizelle geht es nach unten in ein Backstein-Kellergewölbe, vorne Sitznische und Bar, hinten der Dancefloor mit DJ, meistens Münchner Locals aaus der Elektro-Szene. Sehr chillige, im wahrsten Sinn des Wortes 'undergroundige' Atmosphäre.
Der Eintritt ist immer frei, geöffnet ist unter der Woche bis 03, am Wochenende bis 05 Uhr.
In the 80ies the German Rockband "Spider Murphy Gang" sung about a bar in Munich district 'Schwabing' and even today, 30 years later, I think you'll find just a very few partypeople between Hamburg and the Alps that's not able to sing this song by heart. It's a song about the notorious snobby Munich 'Schickeria' and their exclusive posh bar. And here, in the Heart of Schwabing,you'll find the Club-Bar 'GUMMIZELLE'(engl.: 'Padded Room'), but it's not a whit a posh-bar, but an iconic brick-lined cellar for an younger audience in a very relaxed vibe. You'll find there behind a large bar a dancefloor with DJ, too. Usually Munich DJ-locals playing all kind of electronic Music there.
The name, by the way, was given cause of the efforts that have been nessesary for the required Noise Protection. If you'll be there you'll see what I mean...
